Dear All,
After a long painful check, diagnosis, work, finally the datacenter is UP and live again.

Last Friday due to a lightning strike on Power Grid, the entire building along with some other buildings went to a complete blackout. For the same, the Datacenter got hit severely and we had a complete system down. Our primary analysis told us that there is a faulty power distribution network which is the reason why the protection mechanism did not worked. The loss was huge as the entire Power Backup system went down, So the Upstream Bandwidth provider's equipments (ISP-CPE). Togather, the switching was also damaged. One of the server (Prototype of IP Telephony) also damaged and luckily the router, mail server, web+DNS survived, though we have to check if there is any damage internal. We lost the WiFi and some of the rack equipments including KVM and also at this time, we can't work on the rack due to hi body leakage current (the earthing system is not working). Under all of these circumstances, we finally made the system UP, of course partially, using our damaged existing
equipments.

We are arranging and doing our best to come again fully live but mean time, we request your patience and support to us by understanding the situation.

We were suffering from SPAM in our guestbook from many days. We have taken various steps like monitoring IP and blocking them, etc there. Just a few minutes before, we have implemented CAPTCHA in our guestbook for more strong against SPAM. We are also working on it to make the thing more and more strong.

From now on, the banglardamal.org and all of its associates will enjoy backup power during the power outage. However, if th power uotage is not like regular and if some extreem case, then you may face trouble to reach the servers. Otherwise, with normal power outages, you still can reach all of our servers.

These few days, you might have seen so many entries in the guestbook with URLs. This was a brute force by a script from a remote machine. We have traced the IP and while taking action, we found a major bug in our firewall. After long hard work of 5 hours, finally the firewall is able to block the IP just the way we wanted. Still we are working on the topic and observing. But we hope, for now, the problem has been solved.

We did not knew that our Online Guest Book had a Major Bug. It was not functional. No one could give any message posting there. And it was not a problem at the front-end. But a Major problem at the back-end (The DB Table schema was not proper). We specially Thank a LOT to our Dear Friend Tasnuva who discovered this and informed our Admin Mishu over phone just after she discovered. Now the problem has been solved.
